“This year's theme, "Leadership in STEM," highlights the critical need for strong female role models in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers. While women now fill 40% of high-skill occupations globally, their representation in ICT-related fields remains disproportionately low. Women are underrepresented in key areas such as software development, engineering, technology research, academia, and policymaking. Women are often absent from the highest levels of policymaking and leadership positions within the ICT sector. They tend to find themselves in junior or support roles, with limited opportunities for advancement.
That's why events like this, where young girls receive training on STEM-related topics, are so important. I hope that we have been just that for you over the last few days - an inspiration, a guiding light, and a beacon of hope. My sincerest hope is that we have been able to inspire you to pursue a career in STEM, to defy the odds, and to make your mark in the world.” - said Ms Lilly Sullivan, Chief Technology & Digital Officer
